Fan Letters

A Fan Letter is a private message you can send to any artist with a public profile — visible only to the two of you, never to anyone else, and never to a delegated team member managing that artist's account.

Writing a Letter

Visit any artist's public profile page and look for the Write a Fan Letter card. You'll need to be signed in. Writing a second letter to the same artist continues your existing conversation rather than starting a new one.

Letter Status: Draft, Sent, Opened, Rejected

Every letter you write has a status, and you can always see it on your own letters:

• Draft — not sent yet. Use Save as Draft instead of Send while you're still writing; nobody but you can see a draft, and it doesn't notify the artist. Come back to it any time from the Drafts tab on the Fan Letters page, or right inside the thread, to keep editing, send it, or discard it.
• Sent — delivered to the artist, not yet opened.
• Opened — the artist has opened the thread and seen it.
• Rejected — the artist declined that specific letter (see below). You'll always be able to see this on your letter, whatever else you decide to do next.

Managing Your Letters

From Dashboard → Fan Letters, everyone sees a Sent tab of letters they've written; an artist additionally sees a Received tab for letters written to them. Opening a thread marks the other person's messages Opened, and either party can reply at any time.

If an Artist Doesn't Reply

Rather than letting a fan send increasingly desperate follow-up letters, Informativ handles this the other way around: if an artist hasn't replied after a few days, we send them a gentle reminder notification — up to 3 times total for one letter, spaced a few days apart, so it can never turn into nagging. Replying, archiving the thread, or declining the letter stops the reminders immediately.

Artist Tools: Decline, Archive & Block

An artist can decline one specific letter without blocking the sender — the sender is notified and sees it marked Rejected, but they can still write again later. An artist can archive a thread to tidy it out of their main inbox — a new letter from that fan brings it straight back. An artist can also block a specific sender from writing to them again entirely; the existing conversation stays visible to both of you, it just can't grow, and even a draft they had waiting can no longer be sent. Blocked senders are listed (and can be unblocked) from their own tab on the Fan Letters page.
