1. The Platform
Informativ is a platform that gives you your own tools to run your events and business — and connects people who host and attend events with the people and businesses that make events possible. Depending on which services are enabled, the platform lets you:
- create and manage events and sell tickets online (or take free RSVPs);
- list, discover, and book venues;
- list, discover, and book artists and performers, including collaboration (revenue split) arrangements between artists;
- list, discover, and rent equipment (sound, lighting, staging, furniture, and more);
- offer and book vendor stalls at events, or sell products directly through your own merchandise store as an artist or vendor;
- discover and book appointment-based services (salons, spas, and similar) from service providers;
- order stock from B2B suppliers, and request or fulfil deliveries through verified fleets;
- sell event tickets on an organizer's behalf as a Partner; and
- publish your own public pages under your own name — event pages, booking pages, storefronts, and QR codes — through which your customers buy from or book with you directly.
Informativ is a marketplace. Unless we say otherwise, we are not the organizer of events, the owner of venues, the employer of artists, or the owner of equipment listed on the platform. Contracts for tickets, bookings, and rentals are between the buyer and the relevant provider; Informativ facilitates the transaction and payment.
2. Accounts and Roles
- You must provide accurate information when registering, and keep it up to date. Each person may hold only one user account.
- You must confirm your email address (or sign in with Google) before your account is activated.
- Your account may hold multiple roles (for example organizer, venue manager, artist, equipment lessor, service provider, partner, fleet provider, driver). Some roles are enabled from your profile; others (such as verified venue ownership, or vehicle verification for fleets) require documentation and confirmation by us.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account. Keep your password secure and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- From Dashboard → Team, you may invite other people as staff with limited, scoped permissions to help manage your events, venues, equipment, bookings, or fleet. You are responsible for everything your staff do with the access you grant them, and can revoke that access at any time.
- You may also add staff who have no Informativ account, purely so you can record their details and schedule their shifts. Those people get no access to your account and no login, and we send them nothing. By adding them you confirm you have their permission to record their name and contact details on the platform, and you undertake to keep those details accurate and to remove them when the person no longer works for you. You remain their employer, not us: nothing about scheduling someone on Informativ creates any employment, agency, or other relationship between that person and Informativ, and wages, hours, leave, and every other obligation towards them stay entirely yours.
- Every sign-in on a new device (and again every 30 days) requires a one-time code we email to your account's email address, whichever way you sign in. Keep access to that inbox secure and never share a sign-in code with anyone — we will never ask you for one.
- Instead of emailed codes, you can use an authenticator app from Profile → Security. An authenticator app is required for Root, Sire, Manager, Admin, and Partner accounts to keep that access.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or transact on the platform, and you confirm this when you sign up.
- Login, registration, password-reset, demo-request and contact forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA to keep automated abuse off the platform; use of these forms is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
2B. Onboarding Agents and Account Handover
- An Onboarding Agent is a person we have authorised to set up accounts for other people, in the app or on the website. An agent may create your account with your name and email, add your contact details and photos, switch features on, and set up your business profiles and listings. An agent can never see or change your money, payouts, banking details, orders or bookings, and can never sign in as you.
- Nobody can sign in to an account an agent created until you claim it, by setting a password from the link we email you or by signing in with Google or Apple on the same email address. From then on you are responsible for the account as set out above, including what the agent set up for you, so check it before you confirm the handover.
- To hand the account over, the agent scans your My QR Code and you confirm in your app or on the web. Once you confirm, the agent loses all access to your account. You may decline, and you may end the agent's access at any time before the handover; everything already set up stays yours.
- If you do not answer a handover request within 7 days it goes back to the agent, and if an account is never claimed within 30 days the agent's access ends. You can still claim the account later.
3. Payments, Fees, and Payouts
- Payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR) through our third-party payment gateways, Yoco and PayFast (PayFast is used specifically when you choose to save your card for future payments). We do not store your card details. Your payment is also subject to that gateway's own terms and privacy policy: Yoco's Terms & Privacy Policy and PayFast's Terms & Privacy Policy.
- Informativ charges providers a platform commission on each transaction processed through the platform. Current standard rates are: event ticket sales 4.9%, venue bookings 8%, artist bookings 6%, vendor stall bookings 7%, merchandise store sales 9.5%, equipment rentals 10%, venue on-premises shop sales 8.5%, Restaurant / Bar online orders 6% (on the food and drink only — never on a delivery fee), service (appointment) bookings 7.5%, and B2B supplier order sales 6.5% (charged on the goods only — never on a delivery fee), long-term equipment contracts 7% and fleet contracts 7% (on each monthly fee, excluding VAT — never on the refundable deposit), and Corporate Space (meeting and conference room) bookings 8% (on the deposit and on the balance, as each is paid), and studio (recording, rehearsal and podcast) bookings 10% (on the room and services, on the deposit and on the balance, as each is paid). We may agree a custom rate with an individual provider, in which case that rate applies instead. Rates may change; the rate applied is the rate in force when the payment is processed. When a vendor pays for a stall booking together with their required event tickets in one checkout, no stall commission is charged on that booking — only the standard ticket (and, if added, cooler box) commission applies to the combined payment.
- Tips. Where the platform offers a guest the option to leave a discretionary tip after a purchase (currently: venue on-premises shop orders), the tip is a separate, optional payment processed through the same payment gateway, subject to the same platform commission rate as the underlying sale, and is non-refundable once paid.
- VAT. Providers who are VAT registered must indicate this on their profile and supply a valid VAT number. The price a VAT-registered provider sets (a listing price, a quoted fee, a booking fee) is always the amount before VAT — VAT is added on top of that price at checkout, and you are charged the higher, VAT-inclusive total. The VAT treatment shown at the time of purchase applies to that transaction and its documents (confirmations and invoices) even if the provider's VAT status later changes. Each provider — not Informativ — is responsible for accounting for VAT on their own sales.
- Optional paid promotions (for example featuring an event or equipment listing) are charged in full and are non-refundable once the promotion has started.
- Organizers of a ticketed event may generate downloadable QR codes for physical (printed) tickets. Generating a batch requires payment in full of a platform-set fee, priced by how many codes are in the batch (see our Pricing page), before the codes are created; this fee is charged directly to the organizer (it is not deducted from ticket revenue) and is non-refundable once the batch is generated.
- Access to Direct Sales (recording offline/in-person ticket sales through the dashboard) for a ticketed event may require a once-off, platform-set fee, charged directly to the organizer per event. Once paid, an event keeps Direct Sales access permanently, even if the fee changes afterward; the fee is non-refundable once payment succeeds.
- Access to Point of Sale (recording in-person merchandise sales through the dashboard) for an artist's or vendor's merchandise store may require a once-off, platform-set fee, charged directly to the store owner. Once paid, the store keeps Point of Sale access permanently, even if the fee changes afterward; the fee is non-refundable once payment succeeds.
- Provider earnings (ticket revenue, booking and rental income, less commission) accumulate in the provider's platform account balance. Payouts are made to the bank details you provide, with proof of payment uploaded to the platform, and must be confirmed by you as recipient.
- Settlements and chargebacks. Your payout depends on our payment gateway (Yoco or PayFast) actually settling the funds to us first. Either gateway may delay, withhold, or hold funds in reserve for compliance, fraud-prevention, or dispute reasons, which can delay your payout beyond our usual timeline — this is outside our control. If chargebacks against transactions on the platform become excessive, a gateway may also require additional reserves or restrict our ability to process payments altogether, which would affect every provider, not just the one responsible. See our Payments & Payouts help article for full detail.
- Platform commission is earned when payment is processed and is non-refundable, including when a booking is later cancelled or refunded. Where a refund is made after payout, your balance may go into the negative and you must repay the shortfall.
- Subscription plans. A paid platform subscription (for example Growth or Pro — Bring Your Own Keys) is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically: by subscribing, you authorize PayFast's recurring billing feature to charge your saved payment method the same amount every month until you cancel. A tax invoice is issued and emailed to you for the initial payment and for every automatic renewal. You may cancel at any time from Dashboard → Billing → Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next automatic charge immediately, you keep that plan's benefits until the end of the period already paid for, and your account then reverts to the free plan. Amounts already charged for the current period are non-refundable, consistent with the platform commission treatment above.
- You are responsible for your own tax affairs, including VAT and income tax on your earnings.
4. Tickets and Events
- Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their event listings, for the event taking place as described, and for compliance with all laws, permits, and venue requirements.
- Organizers set their own refund and cancellation terms, which must be lawful and communicated on the event listing.
- Refunds on Event Cancellation. Where an organizer cancels an event, every ticket holder, event-booking guest, stall vendor, and cooler-box buyer is notified, and may request a refund of the full amount they paid; platform commission already collected is not refundable to the organizer. This refund is paid by the organizer directly to the requester (bank transfer) — not through the platform's payment gateway — because the platform does not hold a claim to money it has already disbursed to the organizer. The requester submits their banking details with the request; the organizer must pay and upload proof of payment; the requester then confirms receipt. See our Privacy Policy for how the banking details you submit are handled.
- Tickets are valid only as issued by the platform. Reselling tickets above face value or forging tickets is prohibited.
- A ticket may be transferred to another registered user (Dashboard → My Tickets → Transfer, by scanning the recipient's My QR Code) at no charge, at any time before it is scanned for entry at the event - once scanned, it can no longer be transferred. Transferring a ticket does not change who is entitled to a refund should the event be cancelled; that remains whoever holds the ticket at the time.
- Ticket type changes by the organizer. Before a ticket is scanned for entry, the event organizer (or staff they authorise) may change its ticket type, for example upgrading General to VIP. Such changes are courtesy adjustments at the organizer's discretion: they do not change the amount you paid, you are not charged for an upgrade, and a downgrade does not entitle you to a refund of the difference. You'll be notified when your ticket is changed. Your ordinary refund rights (including on cancellation, above) are unaffected.
- Vendor stalls. Organizers may offer stall packages at their events. Stall prices, location tiers, included stall-employee passes, and the organizer's stall booking policy are shown on the booking page and form part of the contract between the organizer and the vendor.
- A vendor may cancel their own stall booking from Dashboard → My Stall Bookings until the event starts, and the stalls go back on sale. Cancelling at least 7 days before the event refunds the stall price in full to the original payment method; cancelling later refunds nothing. Employee tickets bought with the stall stay valid and are not refunded.
4A. Partners (Independent Ticket Sellers)
- A "Partner" is a user who has opted in to selling event tickets on behalf of organizers, via the Direct Sale option in the mobile app, in exchange for a commission on each sale. Becoming a Partner requires: enabling the Partner feature, providing approved banking details, enabling two-factor authentication, accepting the current Partner Agreement, and — if not a mobile-only seller — providing a complete physical address.
- A Partner may sell tickets for any event whose organizer has enabled partner sales on that event; the platform does not require an organizer to individually approve or invite a Partner. An organizer may further restrict this to mobile Partners only, shop-based Partners only, or leave it open to both.
- The commission a Partner earns per sale, and the additional fee charged to an organizer for enabling partner sales on their event, are each set by the platform and may change. See our Privacy Policy for how the banking and identity details you submit as a Partner are handled.
- Editing the Partner Agreement's content requires every Partner to accept the updated version before continuing to sell — an acceptance of a prior version does not carry over.
- A Partner sale is otherwise subject to the same ticket terms as any other sale (see Section 4 above), including refund handling on event cancellation.
5. Equipment Rentals
- Equipment providers ("lessors") must describe their items accurately, keep availability up to date, and maintain an active damage policy and late return policy before publishing equipment. These policies are shown on each listing and form part of the rental contract.
- Renters ("lessees") book at the item level; the lessor allocates specific units at handover. Renters choose one pricing rate (for example daily or hourly) and only that rate is charged.
- Renters must return equipment on time and in the condition received, fair wear and tear excepted. Damage and late-return charges are applied per the lessor's published policies and the checkout/return condition records.
- Where a rental relates to an event registered on the platform, the event's venue address is used; otherwise the renter must provide an accurate delivery address.
- Published equipment details and pricing cannot be edited while the listing is published or has active rentals — unpublish first.
- Booking and payment: renters pay a 10% booking deposit up front. Each owner has 24 hours to confirm or decline. If they decline or do not respond, that owner's share of the deposit is refunded automatically. Once an owner confirms, the renter pays the balance by the deadline the owner sets, which is at least 24 hours before the rental starts. If the balance is not paid in time, that booking is cancelled and the deposit is kept.
- All or nothing: when booking from several owners at once, the renter may choose all or nothing. Balances are then due only once every owner has confirmed, and if any owner declines or does not respond, every part of the booking is cancelled and the whole deposit refunded.
- Cancelling after paying the balance: more than 7 days before the rental starts, the renter gets the full balance back; from 7 days to 48 hours before, half; under 48 hours, nothing. The booking deposit is not refunded once the owner has confirmed. A security deposit is always refunded in full. The owner keeps the part of the balance that is not refunded. If the owner cancels a paid booking, the renter gets the full balance and security deposit back.
- Owners who do not answer a booking request within 24 hours receive a strike. Three strikes in 90 days takes all of that owner's equipment off hire until they switch it back on. Each owner's response rate is shown on their listings.
5A. Provider Bookings (Service Appointments)
- Service providers (for example salons, spas, and similar appointment-based businesses) list bookable services with a duration and price, and set their own working hours and cancellation waiting period.
- At the time of booking, clients pay only the provider's booking fee (plus any call-out fee) through Informativ, to secure the appointment; there is no deposit/balance split on the booking fee itself. The balance of a service's listed price, if any, is agreed and settled directly between the client and the provider, outside the platform — Informativ does not process, track, or enforce collection of that balance.
- Where a provider cancels a paid booking, the client is refunded in full for whatever was paid through Informativ (the booking fee); the platform commission already collected on it is non-refundable to the provider.
- A client may cancel their own paid booking. Cancelling with at least as much notice as the provider's published waiting period is refunded in full. Cancelling within that window forfeits the provider's published cancellation-fee percentage of the amount actually paid through Informativ to the provider, and the remainder is refunded; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable either way. A provider may instead publish their booking fee as non-refundable, in which case a client-initiated cancellation forfeits the full amount paid regardless of notice given — this is disclosed on the provider's booking page before you pay. This does not affect a provider-initiated cancellation, which is always refunded in full as above.
- A client can't move a paid booking to another time. To change the time, the client cancels (under the rules above) and books again. The only exception is a move-up offer: when another booking is cancelled, the platform may offer an earlier time on the same day for the same service, which the client may accept at no extra cost or decline, keeping their booking as it was.
5B. Venue Room Bookings (Accommodation Venues)
- Accommodation venues (guest houses, lodges, B&Bs, and any other venue that also offers accommodation) list room types with a nightly rate and quantity of rooms available. A room type only becomes bookable once activated, and only once the venue's ownership has been verified (see below).
- Guests pick check-in and check-out dates and a quantity of rooms; availability is checked against existing bookings for those dates before the booking is created, and again at the moment of booking to prevent two guests being confirmed for the same room. Guests pay the full stay price at the time of booking; there is no deposit/balance split.
- Where a venue cancels a paid room booking, the guest is refunded in full; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable to the venue.
- A guest may cancel their own paid room booking. Cancelling 48 hours or more before check-in is refunded in full. Cancelling within 48 hours of check-in forfeits a flat 50% cancellation fee to the venue, and the remainder is refunded; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable either way.
- The venue marks a guest checked in on arrival and checked out on departure, using the venue's published check-in/check-out times as guidance.
- VAT and invoices. Room and meal prices are set before VAT. If the venue owner is VAT registered, VAT is added on top at checkout and shown on your confirmation. Once a booking is paid, the guest and the venue can each download its invoice (a tax invoice where VAT applies) from the booking page. Cancellation fees and refunds are worked out on the total paid, VAT included.
5C. Restaurant / Bar Table & Space Reservations
- Restaurant / Bar venues (bars, pubs, clubs, cafés, restaurants, and any other venue that also offers food and drink) list reservable tables/spaces with a slot duration and, optionally, a reservation fee, and set their own opening hours (weekly schedule plus one-off exceptions). A space only becomes bookable once activated and once the venue's ownership has been verified.
- Guests pick an available time slot; availability is checked against existing reservations for that venue before the reservation is created, and again at the moment of booking to prevent two guests being confirmed for the same slot. Reservations with a fee are paid in full via Yoco at the time of booking; reservations with no fee configured confirm immediately with no payment step.
- Cancellation and refund rules for paid reservations are identical to venue room bookings above: a venue-initiated cancellation is always a full refund; a guest-initiated cancellation is free 48 hours or more before the reservation time, and forfeits a flat 50% cancellation fee inside that window.
- VAT and invoices for paid reservations work the same way as for room bookings above: the reservation fee is set before VAT, VAT is added on top at checkout when the venue owner is VAT registered, and the guest and the venue can each download the invoice once it is paid.
5D. QR Table Ordering
- Restaurant / Bar venues may offer a menu ordered via a QR code placed at each table. No account or login is required to place an order this way.
- Orders placed via table QR code are not processed or paid through the platform. The customer settles payment directly with the venue (cash, card machine, or tab), the same as any walk-in order. The platform is not a party to that payment and charges no commission on it.
- The customer is responsible for accurately confirming their age where an item is marked as alcoholic; the venue remains responsible for complying with applicable liquor-service laws (including verifying age in person as required by law) regardless of the in-app confirmation.
- The venue is responsible for fulfilling orders placed through its menu and for the accuracy of its own menu listings (items, prices, and alcohol flags).
5E. Delivery Requests (Fleet Transport)
- Fleet providers list road vehicles (bikes, cars, vans, trucks) with a max load and load type. A vehicle only becomes assignable to deliveries once its license disc and proof of ownership have been reviewed and approved by us; we may suspend a vehicle at any time.
- Requesters describe the job — pickup and dropoff addresses (with optional extra stops), item and weight, timing — and offer a delivery fee, which is paid in full up front through Informativ. Only paid requests reach a fleet's inbox. Ticking extra hands adds the fleet's published per-person hands rate per requested person to the fee automatically. Ticking coming along notes that the requester rides with the delivery — it changes nothing about the fee.
- Where a fleet declines a paid request, the requester is refunded in full; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable to the fleet.
- A vendor or artist may offer same-day delivery at merchandise checkout: a buyer who picks it pays the closest fleet provider's own same-day fee together with the order, and a paid delivery request is created for that fleet automatically. If the fleet declines, the buyer is refunded the delivery fee portion and the seller fulfils the order another way.
- A delivery can also be started from a received order — an equipment owner from a rental booking they received, or a vendor/artist from a merchandise order they received — in which case the form is prefilled from that order and the delivery stays linked to it. Only the order's own lessor or seller may start one this way.
- Accepting a request assigns one of the fleet's approved vehicles and records the driver. Anyone driving on someone else's account must hold an approved driver license (number and document verified by us, with the expiry captured on approval); without one they cannot be assigned to a delivery. Licenses and vehicle discs expiring within 6 months trigger renewal reminders to the driver and fleet owner. The fleet is responsible for carrying out the delivery with reasonable care, and for any arrangement — including pay — with its drivers, which is strictly between the fleet and the driver, outside the platform.
- Cancellation and refunds. Each fleet provider sets their own cancellation policy, which is shown on the delivery request form before you pay. Where a requester cancels their own paid delivery request: cancelling with at least as much notice as the fleet's published waiting period is refunded in full; cancelling within that window forfeits the fleet's published cancellation-fee percentage of the delivery fee to the fleet, and the remainder is refunded; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable either way. A fleet may instead publish their delivery fee as non-refundable, in which case a requester-initiated cancellation forfeits the full amount regardless of notice given — this is disclosed on the request form before you pay. This does not affect a fleet-initiated cancellation (declining a request), which is always refunded in full as above.
5F. Restaurant / Bar Online Orders (Takeaway, Collection & Delivery)
- A Restaurant / Bar venue may take takeaway, collection, and delivery orders from its menu through Informativ. Unlike QR table orders (5D), these are paid in full up front through the platform when the order is placed. No account or login is required.
- Takeaway orders are only accepted while the venue is open. Collection orders are placed for a day and time the customer chooses, within the venue's published opening hours and up to as many days ahead as the venue allows (at most 14). Delivery is either as soon as possible, which requires the venue to be open, or scheduled for a day and time in that same window.
- A menu item may carry options set by the venue (for example "no onions" or a larger size), some of which may cost extra. The price shown for each option is added to the item's price and is part of the order total. A customer may also leave a note for each item and record a voice note of up to a minute for the venue; the venue should follow reasonable instructions but is not obliged to act on a request it cannot safely or reasonably meet, and a voice note does not change the order's items or price.
- For delivery, the venue chooses who delivers: its own driver, for the venue's own flat delivery fee, which is paid to the venue with no commission; or the nearest platform fleet that offers same-day delivery, for that fleet's own fee, which is paid to the fleet (the standard delivery commission applies to it) through a delivery request created automatically when the order is paid.
- The venue is responsible for preparing orders accurately, for its own menu listings (items, options, prices, and alcohol flags), and for complying with applicable liquor-service laws, including verifying age in person on collection or delivery. The customer is responsible for accurately confirming their age where an item is marked as alcoholic.
- Cancelling a paid online order. A customer signed in on the mobile app may cancel their own order, and is refunded in full, for as long as the order is still new — that is, until the venue starts preparing it. Once preparation has started the customer can no longer cancel it themselves, because the food is being made; they may still ask the venue to cancel it. A guest order placed without an account cannot be cancelled by the customer, as there is no account against which to confirm who placed it; those are cancelled by asking the venue.
- The venue may cancel an order while it is still new or being prepared, in which case the customer is refunded in full; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable to the venue. Once an order is marked ready it can no longer be cancelled by either side, and a fleet-delivered order stops being cancellable as soon as a driver has been dispatched to collect it. If a platform fleet declines the delivery, the customer is refunded the delivery fee and the venue delivers the order itself (or cancels it, refunding the rest).
- Orders the venue doesn't start. A paid order must be started by the venue promptly: from the moment it is paid, or, for an order scheduled for a later time, from that time less the venue's preparation time. If the venue has not started it 30 minutes after that point, Informativ cancels it automatically and refunds the customer in full; the refund is deducted from the venue's balance in the same way as a cancellation made by the venue. An order that was never paid for is cancelled after an hour; if the payment nevertheless goes through afterwards, the order is reinstated and proceeds as normal.
5G. Credit Book (On-Account Sales)
- A vendor may record sales made on account (goods taken now, paid later) in the platform's Credit Book, a record-keeping tool inside Point of Sale. The platform does not extend credit, is not a party to the agreement between the seller and their customer, and charges no commission on the ledger or on collections.
- No interest, credit fee, late fee, or penalty is ever calculated or charged by the platform on these sales. The platform performs no credit scoring, approval, or vetting, and undertakes no debt collection — it surfaces who owes what and lets the seller follow up themselves.
- A seller may set their own credit limit for a customer. It is the seller's guardrail: the platform displays it and warns when a sale would pass it, but never sets, approves or enforces it, and never refuses a sale because of it.
- The platform shows a seller a plain summary of how a customer has paid them before — how many debts were settled, how many on time, how many late, and by how long. This is the seller's own record of their own customer, shown back to them. It is not a credit score, a rating or a recommendation, it is never shared with any other seller or third party, and it is never used to approve or decline anyone.
- Customer records in the Credit Book (name, and where shared a phone number and photo) belong to the seller's book alone: they are visible only to that seller and their delegated staff, never to other sellers and never publicly. The seller is responsible for telling their customers what is recorded (a printable notice is provided for this) and for the accuracy of the book.
- A goods return on an on-account sale is recorded as a credit note reducing the debt — not as a refund — since no payment was ever processed through the platform. See the Refund Policy for what counts as a refund.
- Where a customer has shared a phone number, the platform may send that customer factual reminders of an amount due, paid for out of the seller's own messaging credits. Reminders are limited in number per debt and are neutral in wording: they state the balance, the due date and the seller's name, and never threaten, escalate, or demand. A seller who wants to pursue a debt further does so themselves, in their own name.
- A customer replying PAID to a reminder does not settle the debt or alter the ledger. It only flags the customer to the seller for confirmation; the balance changes when, and only when, the seller records the payment.
- A seller may send their customer a payment link to settle an account by card. This is the only part of the Credit Book where a payment passes through a payment gateway. The platform may charge the seller a processing fee on what is collected this way, at the rate published on the Pricing page; where the seller uses their own payment keys the funds settle directly to them and the platform neither holds the money nor charges a fee. A link can never charge more than the customer actually owes, and the outstanding amount is recalculated at the moment of payment, so a balance already settled in cash cannot be charged again.
- Any such fee is charged to the seller and deducted from what the seller receives. It is never added to what the customer owes. The customer's balance is always reduced by the full amount they paid, and no interest, credit fee, late fee or penalty is ever added to a credit account — paying by link changes nothing about that.
- Paying by link does not make the platform a party to the credit agreement, a lender, or a collector. The debt remains between the seller and their customer. Questions about what was owed, or about an amount paid in error, are settled with the seller — the platform records the payment against the customer's balance and nothing more. See the Refund Policy for how this differs from a normal purchase.
5H. Supplier Orders (Business-to-Business)
- Suppliers sell stock, materials and consumables to other businesses on Informativ. Only an account holding a business role (Organizer, Artist, Lessor, Vendor, Venue Manager/Owner or Provider) may place a supplier order. Supplier orders are not offered to consumers. The supplier sells the goods directly to the buyer; Informativ provides the marketplace, collects payment, and pays the supplier out.
- A supplier must be verified before selling (company registration, and a food-safety certificate where it sells food or drink), and is responsible for the accuracy of its listings (descriptions, prices, units, weights, stock and policies), for the quality and legality of what it sells, for holding any licence its goods require, and for its own return and cancellation policies, which apply to its orders.
- Payment and binding orders. Supplier orders are paid in full up front through the platform, with no credit terms. An order reaches the supplier only once paid, and is binding from then: the buyer cannot cancel a paid supplier order on the platform, though they may ask the supplier to. Informativ charges the supplier a commission on the goods only (the current rate is on our Pricing page), never on a delivery fee, and the buyer pays no platform fee.
- Delivery. The buyer chooses from what the supplier offers: collection from the supplier; the supplier's own delivery, for the supplier's flat fee, paid to the supplier with no commission; or, where available, delivery by an independent platform fleet, for that fleet's own same-day fee, which is paid to the fleet (the standard delivery commission applies to it) through a delivery request created when the order is paid. The fleet's quoted fee is checked again at payment. If the fleet declines the delivery, the buyer is refunded the delivery fee, the goods stay paid, and the supplier arranges another way to deliver or cancels the order.
- Goods sold by weight. Where a product is priced per kilogram or gram, the buyer orders in the supplier's quantity steps and pays up front for the weight ordered; they are never charged more afterwards. If the supplier packs less than was ordered, it records the weight actually packed before dispatch and the difference, including any VAT charged on it, is refunded to the buyer. A packed weight is recorded once and cannot be changed afterwards. Packing more than was ordered is at the supplier's own cost.
- Cancellation by the supplier. A supplier that cannot fulfil a paid order may cancel it with a reason. The buyer is then refunded everything still outstanding on the order; the platform commission already collected is non-refundable to the supplier. Once a platform delivery driver has collected the order, the supplier can no longer cancel it on the platform, and any problem is handled as a dispute under our Refund Policy.
- Group orders. Several businesses may order from the same supplier together in a group order. Each member places and pays for their own order, and is the buyer of only that order; no member pays or is responsible for another's. When the group closes, prices are confirmed at the supplier's prices on that day, the supplier's minimum order applies to the group's total, and a member whose items the supplier no longer has in stock is removed from the group without charge. Delivered orders go out on one trip with up to five drop-off addresses, and the delivery fee is divided between the members who chose delivery, in proportion to what each stop would cost on its own and then to each member's order size, so no member pays more than ordering alone. Every member must then pay their share within 48 hours. Group orders are all or nothing: if any share is unpaid by then, or the business that started the group cancels it, the whole group is cancelled and every member who paid is refunded in full. A delivery address can't be changed once the group closes. If a driver cannot hand an order over at its address, the goods go back to the supplier for the buyer to collect and the delivery share is not refunded. A supplier that cannot fulfil a paid group order cancels the whole group, and every member is refunded in full.
- Connected shops. A supplier may ask Informativ to read its own online shop (for example a WooCommerce, Shopify or PrestaShop shop) and keep its Informativ catalogue in step with it. Informativ does so only after recording the supplier's written permission, and the supplier confirms it is entitled to give that permission. Informativ only reads the shop's catalogue and never changes anything in it. Synced prices and stock are only as current as the last successful read and may briefly differ from the shop; the supplier remains responsible for what it sells on Informativ, and must cancel (with a refund) any order it cannot fill. Synced products stop being orderable if their data has not been refreshed for 24 hours.
- Reviews and standing: once an order is completed, its buyer may review the goods and the supplier's service, and the review is shown on the supplier's public page with the buyer's business name. A supplier promises to dispatch each paid order within its stated lead time (24 hours if none is set), counted from when the order reaches it; a late dispatch or a cancelled paid order costs the supplier points under section 7A.
5I. Contract Bookings (Long-term Equipment & Fleet)
- Equipment owners and fleets may offer contract bookings for months at a time (up to 36 months): a lease of equipment, a dedicated vehicle hire (with or without the fleet's driver), or a scheduled delivery route on fixed weekdays. The contract is between the client and the provider; Informativ provides the booking, collects the payments and pays the provider out.
- A request is free. The provider has 48 hours to approve or decline it (for a scheduled route the fleet sets the monthly price on approval). Once approved, the client has up to 72 hours (or until the start date) to pay the first month plus a refundable deposit of one month's fee, otherwise the contract lapses at no cost.
- Before the first payment, the client and the provider both electronically sign the contract agreement on the platform's secure signing page; no payment can be made on an unsigned agreement, and signing does not extend the payment deadline. Signing this way constitutes a legally binding signature to the same extent as a handwritten one, and each party can download the sealed signed copy. A contract approved while the signing page was unavailable is paid without this step, on the terms shown on the contract.
- By paying the first month the client authorises Informativ to save their card and charge it the monthly amount on each billing date for the rest of the term. If a payment fails the client can pay it from their dashboard; a payment more than 7 days overdue suspends the contract (the provider need not provide the service while it is suspended) until it is paid.
- Either side may end a contract early by giving the notice period shown on the contract (default 30 days). The client pays until the end of the notice period, with the last period pro-rated, and owes nothing further. Months already paid are not refunded.
- The deposit is held by Informativ. At the end, the provider may keep part or all of it only for documented damage, missing items or unpaid amounts, with a reason; the rest is refunded to the client. A deposit not settled by the provider within 14 days is refunded in full. See the Refund Policy.
- Within 60 days of the end, the client may ask to renew at the same monthly price. If the provider approves, the renewal continues on the saved card from the day the current term ends, with no new first payment, and the deposit carries over. Giving notice on a contract calls off a renewal lined up after it.
- During an active contract the client may ask to change the number of equipment units, swap the vehicle, or change a scheduled route (days, time, stops or load; the fleet quotes the new price). If the provider approves, a unit or vehicle change happens straight away and the new monthly price applies from the next billing date; a route change takes effect, with its new price, on the next billing date; where the new price is higher than the deposit, the deposit is topped up to one month of the new price with that payment.
- Equipment or a vehicle on contract is reserved for that client for the whole term. The provider remains responsible for its condition, licensing and insurance, and the client for its proper use and safe keeping while in their care.
5J. Corporate Space Bookings (Meeting & Conference Rooms)
- A Corporate Space venue may list meeting rooms, boardrooms, conference halls and auditoriums for booking through Informativ: by the hour (within one day's bookable hours, subject to the space's minimum), by the day (one or more days, charged per day the space is open), and/or per seat, where the booker reserves a number of the space's seats at a flat price per seat for the whole booking, however long it runs. You must be signed in to book.
- Instant booking. There is no approval step: a booking is confirmed as soon as its deposit is paid. The space is held for 30 minutes while the booker pays; a booking whose deposit isn't paid in that time is released (in the mobile app, leaving the checkout without paying releases it straight away). If the payment goes through afterwards, the booking is reinstated when the time is still free, and otherwise the payment is refunded in full.
- Payment. The booker pays a 50% deposit to confirm and the balance 48 hours before the start, both online through the platform's own payment gateway (never a venue's own gateway). A booking made less than 48 hours before it starts is paid in full when it is made. A reminder is sent a day before the balance is due. If the balance is still unpaid once the booking has started, the venue may cancel the booking and keep the deposit.
- Cancellation by the booker. Cancelling 48 hours or more before the start refunds everything paid. Cancelling later than that, the venue keeps the deposit (half the booking total) and anything paid above it is refunded. A booking can't be cancelled by the booker once it has started.
- Cancellation by the venue. A venue may cancel a confirmed booking until it ends, with a reason; the booker is refunded everything they paid, and the refund is deducted from the venue's balance. The platform commission already collected is non-refundable to the venue.
- The venue is responsible for its listings (capacity, layouts, rates and bookable hours), for the space being available and as described at the booked time, and for the set-up and clean-up gap it keeps around each booking. Changing a space's rates or hours affects new bookings only.
- Catering from the venue. A venue owner may offer selected menu items from their own restaurant or bar with space bookings. Catering added this way is part of the booking: it is included in the total, the deposit and the balance, follows the same cancellation and refund rules, and the same commission applies. The venue is responsible for preparing and serving it, and for liquor-law compliance; a booker ordering alcohol confirms that they are 18 or older and that it will only be served to guests aged 18 or older.
- Equipment and catering booked separately. From a confirmed space booking, the booker may also book AV equipment rentals or a catering provider, prefilled with the booking's details. Each of these is a separate booking with that lessor or provider, paid and cancelled under its own terms (sections 5 and 5A); cancelling the space booking does not cancel them, and cancelling one of them does not affect the space booking.
5K. Studio Bookings (Recording, Rehearsal & Podcast Studios)
- A Commercial & Professional venue may list studios for booking through Informativ, together with its own services (for example an engineer, session musicians, mixing or mastering), each charged per hour, per session, per song or as a flat fee. You must be signed in to book.
- Sessions and rates. A session runs for a whole number of half hours, at least the studio's minimum, within its published bookable hours (which may run past midnight). The room and any per-hour services are charged at the studio's normal rate for time inside its business hours and at its after-hours rate for time outside them, as shown before you pay.
- Tech rider. You may attach a tech rider to a booking, and a studio may require one. It is shared only with the venue and its staff with booking access.
- Payment and cancellation follow the same rules as Corporate Space bookings (5J): a 50% deposit confirms instantly; the balance is due 48 hours before the session (paid in full if booked later); a booker cancelling 48 hours or more ahead is refunded in full, later than that the venue keeps the deposit share and the rest is refunded; a venue cancellation refunds in full; and once a session has started with the balance unpaid, the venue may cancel and keep the deposit. Payments go through the platform's own gateway.
- The venue is responsible for its listings, rates, services and hours, and for the studio, gear and any booked staff being available as described. Changes affect new bookings only.
5L. Repair Shops (RepairersHub) and Online Repair Payments
- A provider whose type is Repairs may use RepairersHub (repairhub.informativ.co.za), the linked repair-shop app, free of charge, signing in with their Informativ account. Their access ends when their Informativ account is suspended or closed, or they change to another provider type.
- Online repair payments. A repair shop with approved banking details may let its customers pay a repair balance by card through a payment link on Informativ, sent by the shop or opened from the RepairersHub repair tracking page. The customer pays exactly the amount shown. The link is for a fixed amount and stops working once paid, cancelled (for example when the balance changes) or after 14 days.
- Fee. The platform charges the shop the "Repair Shop Online Payments" commission shown on the Pricing page on each online payment. It is deducted from what the shop is paid out and is never added to what the customer pays. Payments the shop takes in store carry no fee. Where the shop is on Pro (BYO keys) the money settles straight into its own gateway account at its plan's rate.
- The repair itself is between the customer and the shop: the shop is responsible for the work, its price, its warranty and its return policy. Informativ only processes the card payment and passes it on. Refunds are covered in the Refund Policy (section 3.9).
6. Venues and Artists
- A venue may be added by someone other than its owner (for example an organizer creating an event). Such venues are not bookable until ownership is verified by documentation and confirmed by us. Only the confirmed owner manages a venue.
- Artists are responsible for honouring confirmed bookings and for the accuracy of their profiles.
Artist booking process
- An organizer sends a booking request for a specific performance slot (start time and duration), accepting the artist's published booking agreement where one exists, and sets a deadline for the artist's response. Requests not answered by the deadline expire.
- The artist responds with a quote: their fee, the deposit percentage required to confirm, the date the remaining balance must be paid by, and whether the deposit is refundable — and if so, until what date.
- A booking contract compiling these terms is generated automatically once the quote is sent. Both the organizer and the artist must electronically sign it before the booking can be accepted or paid — on the platform's secure signing page, where each party signs only through their own signing link and the signature is recorded against their name, email address, timestamp, and IP address (or, where the signing page is unavailable, from their own account with the same details recorded). Signing electronically through the platform in this way constitutes a legally binding signature to the same extent as a handwritten one. Once both parties have signed, either may download the executed contract as a PDF.
- Once the contract is fully signed, the organizer either accepts the quote (paying the deposit through the platform, which confirms the booking) or rejects it with a reason, which closes that request; a new request may be sent to negotiate further.
- The organizer must pay the remaining balance through the platform by the quoted balance date. If the balance is unpaid after that date, the artist may cancel the booking. On such a cancellation the deposit is refunded only if the artist quoted it as refundable and the refundable-until date has not passed; otherwise the deposit is retained.
- Deposit and balance payments, and any deposit refunds, are processed through the platform's payment gateway and recorded against the booking. Platform commission on artist bookings is charged as set out in section 3.
- Artists working together may record a collaboration (split sheet) setting each collaborator's revenue share. Every collaborator with an email address, the initiator included, confirms their share by electronically signing it — the same mechanism as an artist booking contract, constituting a legally binding signature to the same extent as a handwritten one; an external collaborator with an email address signs through a link we email them, without needing an account. An external collaborator with no email address has their agreement recorded by the initiator on their behalf instead. The split recorded on the platform is binding between the collaborators for revenue processed through the platform. Once every party has signed, any of them may optionally confirm on the platform whether the completed split sheet has been submitted to SAMRO and/or CAPASSO — this confirmation is for the collaborators' own record-keeping only and is not verified by us.
Artist & Vendor merchandise store
- An artist or a vendor may list products of four types: Simple and Configurable (physical goods, shipped by the seller), Virtual (a service or appointment delivered by the seller outside the platform), and Downloadable (a digital file delivered automatically after payment). Both sell through the same store infrastructure; a vendor's store does not require ever booking a stall (see section 4).
- For Virtual products, we are not a party to and are not liable for how the seller actually delivers the service or appointment — that arrangement is solely between the seller and the buyer. Our role is limited to processing the payment.
- For Downloadable products, the seller grants the buyer a limited, non-transferable licence to use the file for personal use only, unless the product listing states otherwise. Redistributing, reselling, or publicly sharing a downloaded file without the seller's permission is prohibited.
- For physical products, a seller may offer flat-rate delivery, live-quoted Courier Guy or Fastway delivery, self-fulfilled Delivery by Distance (the seller sets their own price bands by distance and delivers it themselves), or fixed-price PAXI (PEP store network) delivery. The delivery charge and terms of the option you choose at checkout form part of your order.
- A seller may ask you to provide specific details after purchase (for example a name, a reference photo, or a file relevant to your order), with a response window they set (24 hours by default). You are responsible for responding within that window; if it closes before you respond, the request is no longer available to you and the seller may fulfil your order without it. This is not, on its own, grounds for a refund or cancellation of your order.
- Platform commission on merchandise sales is charged as set out in section 3, regardless of whether the seller is an artist or a vendor; shipping cost, where applicable, is passed through to the seller in full and is not commissioned.
- A seller may also record sales made in person (at a market, pop-up, or event stall) through the platform's Point of Sale tool. Point of Sale transactions are not processed or paid through the platform — the buyer settles payment directly with the seller (cash, the seller's own card machine, etc.). The platform is not a party to that payment, charges no commission on it, and is not responsible for the accuracy of stock or pricing recorded at the till beyond what the seller enters. A once-off fee to unlock Point of Sale is set out in section 3.
- Within 14 days of confirming you received an order, you may ask the seller to accept a return of its physical items. If the seller approves, you send the items back, and once the seller confirms they arrived, the items' price is refunded to your original payment method. Shipping, Downloadable products and Virtual products are not refunded. A seller who declines must give a reason; if you disagree, contact support.
7. Reviews
After a completed rental or booking you may leave a review and rating. Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience, and free of unlawful or abusive content. Reviews are moderated and we may remove reviews that breach these Terms. Providers may not offer incentives for positive reviews or review their own listings.
Organizers may also review a vendor who had a stall at their event, once the event has ended.
7A. Points & Account Standing
- Each role you hold (for example Organizer, Venue Owner, Artist, Lessor, Provider, or Vendor), as well as your base account, has its own points balance, starting at 10 out of 10 when that role is assigned. This is visible only to you, from Dashboard → Profile → Standing, alongside a history of point changes.
- Points are deducted for conduct that affects other users of that role — including, depending on the role, late or repeated cancellations (stall bookings included), not honouring a confirmed booking or performance, arriving late to a performance without warning the organizer first, failing to respond to a booking request in time, delivering equipment late, returning rented equipment damaged or not at all, having a merchandise order returned for a refund, and receiving a review below 3 stars. An organizer also loses points when an artist or stall vendor they booked gets a review below 3 stars from them. A review above 3 stars earns a point back, up to the starting maximum.
- A supplier loses 2 points for each order (or group order) dispatched later than its stated lead time, and 1 point for each paid order it cancels; only the supplier's service rating, not the goods rating, counts towards its standing.
- If a role's points reach zero, that role is suspended for 2 months; your other roles and your base account are unaffected. A suspended role automatically resets to 10 out of 10 and reactivates once the suspension period ends.
- This points system is separate from, and does not limit, our right under section 8 below to suspend or terminate your account, unpublish listings, or cancel transactions for breaching these Terms — we may take that action at any time regardless of your points balance.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not use the platform to:
- break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or list items or events you are not entitled to offer;
- mislead other users, including through false listings, fake availability, or manipulated reviews;
- circumvent the platform — for example moving a transaction initiated on Informativ off-platform to avoid commission;
- interfere with the platform's operation, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or scrape data;
- use Fan Letters to harass, threaten, or spam an artist, or attempt to circumvent an artist's decision to block you from sending further letters.
We may suspend or terminate accounts, unpublish listings, and cancel transactions that breach these Terms. Where we can, we will give you notice and a chance to respond.
9. Content and Intellectual Property
You keep ownership of the content you upload (images, descriptions, profiles). You grant Informativ a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and promote that content on and in connection with the platform. You warrant that you have the rights to everything you upload. The platform itself, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to McSbuSing (Pty) Ltd.
10. Liability
- The platform is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law — including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 where it applies — Informativ is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the acts or omissions of organizers, venues, artists, lessors, or renters.
- Our total liability to you for any claim connected to the platform is limited to the platform fees we earned from you in the six months before the claim arose.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Privacy
We process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
12. Changes and Termination
- We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the platform, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
- You may close your account at any time. Obligations that by their nature survive closure — including outstanding payments, refunds, and liability for past transactions — survive.
13. General
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any service-specific policies shown on a listing (such as damage and late-return policies), are the whole agreement between you and Informativ.
