Fleet Transport

If you run bakkies, vans, trucks, or bikes for hire, you can list your fleet on Informativ and accept paid delivery requests β€” moving merchandise, equipment, or event materials for other users.

Becoming a Fleet Provider

Enable Transport Management in Profile β†’ Feature Access to get the FLEET_PROVIDER role and a fleet profile. Your hub is Dashboard β†’ Transport, with your vehicles, incoming requests, and earnings KPIs.

Adding & Verifying Vehicles

From Dashboard β†’ Transport β†’ My Vehicles, add each vehicle with its type (bike, car, van, or truck), make, model, license plate number, max load in kg, and load type (general, standard, refrigerated, or heavy machinery). Upload two photos: the license disc and proof of ownership. New vehicles save as drafts β€” Submit for Approval once both documents are uploaded, and a root admin reviews them under Dashboard β†’ Approvals β†’ Vehicles. Approved vehicles become Active; only active vehicles can be assigned to a delivery. A rejected vehicle returns to draft with the reason shown, so you can fix it and resubmit. Plate numbers must be unique within your fleet.

Handling Delivery Requests

Paid requests land in Dashboard β†’ Transport β†’ Delivery Requests, pending first. Opening one shows the pickup/dropoff addresses, item description and weight, and the fee the requester already paid. Accept it by choosing one of your active vehicles β€” a vehicle rated below the item's weight is refused with the exact figures β€” and whoever accepts is recorded as the driver. Then Dispatch (the driver is notified to head to pickup), Start Trip (record the opening mileage and fuel %), and Complete (record the closing figures). Readings can never go backwards: Start is checked against the vehicle's last recorded mileage, Complete against the trip's own opening reading. Declining a pending request needs a reason and refunds the requester in full.

Logging Fuel

While a delivery is active you can log fuel stops β€” amount, litres, cash/card/fuel-card, station, and a photo of the receipt (required, as the audit trail). Every request's detail page keeps the full trip history and the delivery's fuel total.

Drivers & Teams

Invite drivers via Dashboard β†’ Team with the Transport permissions (manage vehicles, manage requests, view reports). Accepting a transport invite also grants them the DRIVER role so driver-only surfaces recognise them. Drivers use the same inbox from the dashboard or the mobile API.

Driver Licenses & Renewals

Anyone driving on someone else's account needs an approved driver license first β€” without one, they can't select a vehicle when accepting a request (the fleet account owner is exempt). Each driver submits their license number and a photo of the license from Dashboard β†’ Transport β†’ Driver License; a root admin reviews it under Approvals β†’ Driver Licenses and records the expiry date on approval. Licenses and vehicle discs expiring within 6 months notify the driver and the fleet owner automatically (and show on the admin Expiring Documents page), so renew before the date to keep driving without interruption.

Requesting a Delivery

You don't need to be a provider to move something: open Request a Delivery, pick a fleet with verified vehicles, and describe the job β€” pickup and dropoff addresses (plus up to 5 extra stops along the way), what you're moving, its weight, when you need it, and the fee you're offering. Tick extra hands if you need help loading or offloading and say how many people β€” the fleet's own per-person hands rate is added to your fee automatically. Tick coming along if you'll be riding with the delivery so the driver expects you, and use the optional notes box for anything they should know β€” gate codes, who to call on arrival, or where to offload. You pay the total up front through Yoco (or PayFast if you save your card). The fleet is notified immediately; if they accept, you'll see the assigned vehicle, and you'll be told when it's dispatched and delivered. Track everything under Dashboard β†’ My Deliveries. If the fleet declines, you're refunded in full.

Starting from an order is faster: on a rental booking you received (lessor) or a merchandise order you received (vendor/artist), hit Request Delivery β€” the form comes back prefilled with the other party's address and the order's items, and the delivery stays linked to that order so you can see its reference right on the order page.

Fees & Payouts

Informativ takes a 10% delivery commission (see Dashboard β†’ Pricing) when your request is paid; the rest lands in your payable account like any other earning. Set your extra-hands rate per person from Dashboard β†’ Transport β†’ Profile & Fees β€” it prices itself into every request that ticks the box. Set a same-day merchandise fee there too and merchandise sellers can offer you as their same-day option β€” the buyer pays your fee with their order and a paid delivery request lands in your inbox automatically. Leave it blank to opt out. Paying your drivers is between you and them, outside the platform.
