Connecting Your Yoco & PayFast Keys

Payment Gateways is where you manage both providers. It's only used on the Pro β€” Bring Your Own Keys plan; see Subscriptions for what that changes.

Yoco

Paste your secret key (sk_live_…) from Dashboard → Settings → API keys. The public key (pk_live_…) is optional β€” add it if you want the app to show your Yoco branding at checkout.

PayFast

Paste your Merchant ID, Merchant Key, and β€” if you set one β€” your Passphrase, all from PayFast → Settings → Integration. A sandbox key won't verify against live payments.

Verifying

Save, then use Verify to confirm the keys actually work. Verification is what switches payments over to your account, so do it before you announce it. Remove falls back to Informativ's platform keys immediately, and your plan's commission starts applying again.

How Your Keys Are Stored

  • Keys are encrypted at rest.
  • The API only ever returns a masked hint, such as sk_live_β€’β€’β€’β€’1234 β€” the full secret is never sent back to the app or the dashboard after saving.
  • Informativ never sees buyer funds while BYO is active.
