Artists & Collaborations

Informativ supports a comprehensive artist management system, including profiles, bookings, and revenue split-sheets.

Artist Profile

Enable the Artist Profile feature in your Feature Access settings. You can then:

  • Set your artist type (DJ, Singer, Band, etc.) and visibility (Public/Private).
  • Add a bio, media links (Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud), and a default artist agreement (WYSIWYG).
  • Define your base rate, deposit percentage, and VAT inclusivity.
  • Add your SAMRO, CAPASSO, SAMPRA, and RISA reference/membership numbers (all optional) under “Rights Organisation References” β€” never shown on your public profile, but pulled onto your Collaboration split sheets so royalty payments can be correctly attributed.
  • List your Awards & Achievements on their own tab β€” title, awarding organization, year, and an optional short note for each. Unlike the rights organisation references above, these show publicly on your artist profile page.

Artist Booking Workflow

When an organizer wants to book an artist, the flow is:

  1. Request: Organizer creates a request with the proposed event, performance time, and fee.
  2. Quote/Response: Artist views the request and Responds with their terms (or Declines). A Booking Contract compiling these terms is generated automatically at this point.
  3. Sign the Contract: Both the organizer and the artist must electronically sign the contract from the booking page before it can move forward β€” each signature records the signer's name, timestamp, and IP address. Once both have signed, the contract is downloadable as a PDF.
  4. Accept/Reject: Once fully signed, the organizer either Accepts the artist's terms or Rejects them.
  5. Deposit: Upon acceptance, the organizer pays the deposit.
  6. Balance: The balance is due by the agreed deadline. If overdue, the booking can be cancelled.

Booking statuses are tracked precisely: REQUESTED β†’ QUOTED β†’ CONFIRMED β†’ COMPLETED (or DECLINED/REJECTED/CANCELLED). The contract has its own status alongside the booking: PENDING_SIGNATURES β†’ COMPLETED (or CANCELLED if the booking itself is cancelled or rejected).

Collaboration Split Sheets

For projects with multiple artists, use the Collaboration tool to manage revenue sharing:

  • Create a collaboration and add collaborators via email.
  • Assign split percentages (sum must equal 100).
  • Send the agreement for digital signatures. Each collaborator can Sign (ticking a certification checkbox) or Decline.
  • Once all parties agree, the collaboration is marked as Completed.

Each collaborator's SAMRO/CAPASSO/SAMPRA/RISA reference numbers, if they've added any, show next to their name on the split sheet and the final signed PDF β€” pulled automatically from a registered artist's own profile, or entered directly on the row for an external collaborator who has no profile on the platform.

Signing a split sheet records your account's full legal name, an IP address, and a timestamp β€” the same electronic-signature approach used for artist booking contracts, so there's no freely-typed name to fake. An external collaborator has no platform account to sign in with, so the initiator records their agreement on their behalf instead. Once everyone has signed, the signed PDF includes a full Signatures section for the record.

Once a split sheet is Completed, any of the collaborators can optionally check off a small Rights Organisation Submission checklist confirming whether the signed document has actually been lodged with SAMRO and/or CAPASSO β€” the two societies that administer composition/songwriting splits. This is purely for the group's own record-keeping and doesn't affect the collaboration itself; it also shows on the signed PDF.
